BOAT CHARTERS AND SHIPPING INFORMATION

CHARTER BOATS

For the chartering of boats please contact Jimmie Lowe at:
Telephone # 242-393-1730
E-mail: lorijim@coralwave.com

The host club/organization is obliged to provide a minimum of 20 charter boats. These will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

There are two classes of charter boats:

1. Local Bahamian owned boats which are in good sailing order. Cost: US$500.00
2. US boats which are fairly new. These are being shipped in to Nassau. Cost: US$1,000.00
NOTE: Insurance of $100.00 is added to the above. This insurance covers the hull, sails and equipment plus personal liability up to $300K.

When completing your registration form please indicate the category of boat you wish or contact Jimmie Lowe. Once the boat is assigned, this will be confirmed on the RNSC website.

In making arrangements for US boats, Jimmie will put you in direct contact with the owner in the US. Once the confirmed with him, the boat will be assigned to you and the owner will make arrangements to have it delivered to our shipping point in Florida.

SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS

This is for all boats needing to be shipped to Nassau.

All boats will be shipped from Miami to Nassau (return) on the M.V. "Betty K".

Address: Betty K. Agencies USA (LLC)

Miami, Florida

Tel - (305) 635-4650
Fax - (305) 635-4651
Open for business 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday -Friday

Shipping to Nassau will be between September 10 and 26, 2006. When the boats arrive in Nassau we will arrange for delivery of them to the Royal Nassau Sailing Club or Nassau Yacht Club. Boats will be shipped back immediately after the regatta. We plan to start this on October 8. Please note that due to processing by US Customs it may take a day or two for you to clear your boat after it arrives back in the USA.

COST: Shipping costs are $400.00 per boat. This does not include insurance as all owners are expected to have their own boats covered.
Note: The brokerage for clearing each boat in Nassau will probably be $20.00-$25.00 and when the boats are returned to Miami the clearing per boat could be anywhere from $25.00-$50.00.
ANY SUNDRY CHARGES ASSOCIATED WITH THE SHIPPING OF
BOATS WILL BE FOR THE ACCOUNT OF THE BOATOWNER.
PAYMENT: The shipping charges are payable to RNSC at the time of Registration for the Regatta. RNSC will be invoiced by the shipper and pay them after the fact.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: No documents are required for the shipping of boats to The Bahamas. However, on their return to the US a FORM 4455 (Homeland Security Document), which is a Certificate of Registration will be required. You must procure this document from US customs (Homeland Security?) prior to shipping the boat to Nassau. In order to obtain this document you will need the original Bill of Sale for the boat. You can confer with Don Hackbarth for guidance on this item.

ENSURE YOUR BOAT IS EASILY IDENTIFIABLE. We request that you put the boat hull number on the exterior hull or on the boat cover in an obvious location for the benefit of customs. Otherwise they will root through the boat to locate the number and they generally have no idea where it is located. If you have a boat cover which you do not want to mark just put a piece of duct tape on the cover and write the hull number on it.

If you have a problem or need additional information please contact:
